More Than Just a Walk: The Deep Connection Between Foot Health and Heart Disease
Did you know that your feet can tell you about the health of your heart? Research shows that if the arteries in your feet are blocked, there is a 90% chance that your heart’s arteries are also narrowed. This condition, known as Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), can increase the risk of a heart attack by 5 to 6 times.
Signs Your Arteries Need Attention:
Intermittent Claudication: Feeling sharp pain in your calf muscles while walking that goes away after a short rest.
Temperature Drop: Your feet feel unusually cold to the touch compared to the rest of your body.
Rest Pain: Feeling unbearable pain in your feet even while sitting or sleeping at night.
Color Changes: Your feet appearing blue or turning black, which is a sign of tissue death or “Dry Gangrene”.
